Fractional Support: Marketing for nonprofits
Wilma Thomson
Hi, I’m Wilma. For more than a decade, I’ve helped mission-driven organizations tell their stories in ways that move people to act: to sign up, show up and give.My non-profit career began at a community health plan in Chicago. That’s where I learned that a great program only matters if people know it exists and can find their way to it. Since then, I’ve spent my career in faith-based publishing and then in the media field, building journeys that turn first-time constituents into loyal partners and launching campaigns that reach their goals ahead of schedule. Along the way, I earned a master’s in health communication from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a certificate in fundraising and development from University of California - Davis. What I love most is sitting down with a small team doing important work on a tight budget and helping them see what’s possible. I listen first, ask good questions, and hand you a clear plan you can actually carry out, with no jargon and no fluff.People who work with me know I follow through. When I take on your project, I treat your mission like my own, because the people you serve deserve nothing less. Why Lantern & Hearth? A lantern lights the way, helping new people find your mission, and a hearth is where they gather, feel at home and choose to stay. Lantern & Hearth exists to help nonprofits do both: reach the people who need to hear your story, then build relationships that last.
